Garish Monkeys Gifted

I pressed on with the socks, and in the end, I think they came out pretty well. The odd striping held up through the gusset section, and duplicated itself precisely in the second sock.
And Tara was thrilled with them, she loved the colors, so it all turned out well. By the by, Tara's birthday party was last night, and it was pretty wild. Much wilder than one would expect from a bunch of drunken Ph.D students, but maybe I should have known better!

I'm off today to Oklahoma City for a conference. I've got hotel room knitting packed away in my suitcase...

...and a plain stockinette sock ready to go for actual conference knitting.

I'm glad your friend liked the socks - it's great that you press on with them eh?

Enjoy the conference and all the knitting that comes along with it :)

I think those Monkeys rock. Looks like you planned it exactly that way.

That's great that the striping kept up for both socks. And so nice that the recipient is pleased with them. I think they turned out cute!

I like your blog and wondering where the rss feed button is since I'd like to subscribe?

I LOVE those orange socks, too, by the way!

Your garish socks match! They look great. And I can't wait to see what kind of socks that orange and blue yarn turns into. Hope you're having a good time in OKC and happy knitting!

I like 'em! It looks like you took the time to make them match as well as keep up the striping, very cool. I'm laughing at the suitcase full of knitting you're bringing with you, hope it keeps you busy!

"Garish Monkeys" LOL. Makes me think of a monkey wearing rollers in her hair smoking a cigarette in one of those long holder thingys who has too much turquoise eyeshadow and fuschia lipstick on. My imagination scares me sometimes.

Wow, I'm surprised at how that knit up, actually, it looked so innocent in the ball. I think it works though, very well.
