Scarf Review

***If you haven't entered my Blogiversary contest (see previous post), please be sure to do so. The prize is a gift certificate to The Loopy Ewe!***

I joined the International Scarf Exchange, and started my scarf last night.

I looked at lots of different patterns, but I just couldn't get past the Chevron Scarf from Last Minute Knitted Gifts. And since I was too anxious to start to wait for Blue Moon to restock the mediumweight STR or for my LYS to reopen so they could sell me some Koigu, I started with the lightweight STR I had on hand--Lemongrass and Farmhouse.

So, tell me. How's it looking?

Also--FO Alert! I finished this pair of baby cable ribbed socks for my sister-in-law Cheryl. Just for no reason. Well, that's not true. She was COMPLAINING that I hadn't made her a pair yet...

The yarn is STR in Marbles.

Oh, I am using size 5 primarily, but every so often I do a couple of rows on size 6, just to keep the colors moving along and not bunching up on the sides. It seems to be working so far!

I think the colors you picked re great! If I knit this again, these would be colors I'd want to choose.

I love your idea of switching the needle size every so often to cahnge the pooling. That is a great idea!

It is very fun indeed! I'm trying to keep myself from buying copious amounts of natural yarn now. haha

The cable pattern really compliments the sock yarn, surprising but very nice. The scarf colors are perfect too.

As for those socks. OMG your sister in law is obviously a favorite person to have earned those!

Those are amazing colors!! Very, very pretty. I'm doing a similar scarf (only with variegated) with size 6 needles, sock yarn, and much humming, because it's such a relaxing project.

I really need to finish something! Or start something...or figure out a project to start. Nice work on the scarf and socks! Perhaps if I look at enough of the knitted goodness on other blogs I will find the will to finish something!
