Knit Kniece!

My nieces Brittany and Caleigh are in town from Kalamazoo for Spring Break, and tonight, Caleigh went with me to Knit Nite.

She actually ended up doing more spinning than knitting, and, I am not joking here, this kid's a natural.

I need to take lessons from her!

All while the boys of eatsts and Sue looked on.

The amazing and talented Ann provided the wheel and the fiber (thanks, Ann. I promise I'll pay you back), and Caleigh will be heading back to Kalamazoo with her very own skein of handspun.

In other news, this came in the mail today:

God, I feel old!

excellent spinning! You're not old. My 20 year reunion was last summer. That's old! You have 5 more years of spring chicken-ness left. :)

How cool to see kids spin. I've never seen that before. She is a total natural.

Oh no, you can't feel old, but now I do. My 20-year was last year. If you're old what does that make me? LOL

Ooh, can your niece give me some spinning lessons too? :)

Somebody buy that kid a wheel and open up an Etsy store for her! She could pay for her own college.

Kids learn too easily, not fair. It would take me a month to get that far.

I look so serious knitting on Brittany's faux-fur.

Too cool! Love to see young spinners. I still just ahave 2 spindles, but I let my girls spin the spindle for me. And old? I was leaving High School when you were coming on in, lol!

Your niece is adorable--and so talented!
And I'm really old because my SON is having his 15 year reunion this year!

15 years, you say? You're just a baby!!! I could have been your babysitter!!! I'll just be sitting with my head in the oven if you need me...

The niece has really mastered the spinning! Her first skein of handspun looks much better than mine did, that's for sure!

I can't even remember my 20th! ( maybe it was the alcohol? or alzheimers?- whatever!) So you can't be old ... yet.

Your neice was cute as an angora bunny and an amazing spinner! You're a great Aunt to start her addiction soon enough for her to become fabulously proficient by the time she's an adult... tell her that all the knit night folks get signed copies of her books when she grows up! We were there when it all began...

Great to see you.. we need to have lunch.. dinner or maybe drinks!

Cute girl and love how her name is spelled!

And don't you dare talk about old.. at least until you've hit your 30 year reunion mark which I'm doing this year.. ::sigh::
