Oh, My Good Fortune; Thank Goodness For Vodka!

Ok, before anyone gets excited, this post is not about alcohol. I was at a loss for a post title, so I scrolled through the drop-down menu of things previously typed in various places.

I have no idea where this one came from, but it cracked me up, so I am going with it.

Sue and I went to Oklahoma City last night to see The Yarn Harlot. We had a perfectly lovely time, although my camera seems to have gone a bit haywire, resulting in photos like this:

And this:

I do realize that one is exceptionally bad. I may need a new camera.

The pictures from the signing came out marginally better. Sue made Stephanie one of her beautiful tiara creations, which seemed to go over well.

We got to stand in line with The Prairie Knitter and other talented Oklahoma knitters, which made it lots of fun.

Please do check out The Yarn Harlot's charming account of her trip to Oklahoma.

In knitting news, I remain intimidated by Icarus. Want to see what I have done so far?

Yep, that's it. Nice, eh?

Great picture of Stephanie with the tiara. I'm glad I recognized you last night. I'm even more glad you got to come to see The Harlot.

I'm so jealous you got to see the Harlot! My secret pal sent me a signed copy of Knitting Rules, but I haven't been able to go see her yet. Maybe on the next tour.

I had so much fun last night, and it was great meeting Stitch 'N Sue and Fannie Pie!

And just so you know, you're closer to that Icarus Shawl than I am. I still haven't decided on my yarn!

Oh, your pictures are so much better than mine!! Some of mine were so bad that blogger refuses to upload them...! for serious. will. not. work.

Anyway, love the yarn you're using for Icarus... I'm right between you and Prairie Knitter! I have the yarn, and have the magazine open to that page. But they aren't in the same room yet!!

Thanks for making it a fun road trip!

I'm so glad you got to go to OKC, and also glad you got pics of the Harlot with the tiara, Sue's are the best.
I've missed you at the library knitnight, hope you can make it back.

Don't be intimidated! You can do it... Icarus flew too close to the sun, after all... you'll do great with it. Knitting is 90% following directions, 9% persistence, 1% luck.

My Icarus...is still in its skein. I tried with one yarn and had to frog about 5 times, because I kept making mistakes, and the yarn got splitty. Then I tried with another and just got impatient. Lace scares me, I think!

That's so awesome you met Stephanie. Last time she came to my city, I found out the day after she left. Doh! I guess i need to pay better attention.

Don't give up! I just finished my first lace project (shoalwater shawl) and it was very daunting at first. As I went on it became almost easy. I'm looking for yarn to start Icarus next.
